Did you know that our Level 5 qualified massage therapist, Sarah Sellick also offers acupuncture, myo-fascial release, lymphatic drainage and reflexology?

Sarah is extensively trained in advanced recovery techniques that enhance physical well-being and promote natural healing. Her work goes beyond traditional massage, incorporating methods such as medical acupuncture, hot stone therapy, myofascial release, articulations and targeted stretching techniques—including isometric, concentric, and eccentric movements.

Sarah’s treatments are always tailored to your individual needs, whether you're an athlete or simply navigating the physical stresses of everyday life. She is also qualified in pregnancy massage, offering relief from joint and muscle discomfort, swelling, and poor circulation.

For individuals undergoing cancer treatment, her oncology massage provides gentle, supportive care. Additional specialisations include manual lymphatic drainage and scar tissue therapy, which can help reduce tightness, improve mobility, and assist in the healing process after surgery.

Appointments with Sarah can stand alone to provide pain relief, relaxation and maintenance of muscular health, or they can be tailored to provide support even when seeing our Osteopaths.

Sarah has some great recommendations to keep yourself in great shape in between appointments:

Three Self-Help Techniques You Can Try at Home:

  1. Self-Myofascial Release (Foam Rolling):
Using a foam roller can help release muscle tension, improve circulation, and reduce soreness. Focus on major muscle groups like calves, thighs, and upper back. Roll slowly and breathe deeply to allow tight areas to soften.

  2. Dynamic Stretching Routine:
Incorporate controlled, movement-based stretches (like leg swings, arm circles, or hip openers) to maintain mobility and prepare muscles for activity. This can be especially beneficial first thing in the morning or before exercise.

  3. Diaphragmatic Breathing:
Deep belly breathing helps relax the nervous system, reduce muscle tension, and support recovery. Lie on your back with one hand on your lower ribs and focus on slow, even breaths that make your hand rise and fall with each inhale and exhale.

These at-home techniques can help maintain comfort and mobility between appointments. When you're ready to return for hands-on support, Sarah’s expert care will be there to meet you where you are on your wellness journey.
