Hormonal Movement: Stop the battle and go with the flow
When we understand our hormones, when we allow ourselves time to tune in to the ebb and flow, when we know what our sensations relate to, we can be kinder and gentler on ourselves.
We will know why sometimes we can push ourselves or why we feel tired, why we feel alert and bold or why we need to cry or vent, why we crave carbs or maybe it’s sweets, when to make wise food choices or when to curl up and give in.
Listen in, acknowledge and honour your feelings. Women are not just being ‘hormonal’ or ‘hysterical’ or ‘unstable’ as we go through our cycles or experience the changes of menopause. The experiences, emotions and reactions are valid, genuine and very real.
You must not feel that your experience is diminished in any way just because there may or may not be a hormonal element to it.
Harness the hidden power of your hormones, by treating your cycle like the seasons.
The first day of ‘winter’ is the first day of your period; time to hibernate, take time for yourself and take things slowly. ‘Spring’ comes as your period ends and you’ll buzz with ideas and energy.
As ovulation occurs, you’ll go into ‘summer’ feeling sexy, strong and up for challenges. In the week before your period ‘autumn’ comes, along with blustery moods, assertiveness, increased empathy and an opportunity to voice your emotions.
Menopause is a time to respect, honour and nourish your body
Peri-menopause is the second rewiring of the brain. It’s a time to pause, reflect and to consider change and the future, a time for another emotional shift. It can be a time of anxiety, brain fog, loss of focus and identity, grief, and confusion of self.
Menopause can be a time of making peace with yourself. It brings clarity, new visions, a release from expectations, a time of liberation and feeling alive. What if menopause has come to rescue you? It calls you to live with new wisdom. Take note, what are your needs now? Is it a time for a job shift, to start something new, to be the role model or to regenerate relationships?
Menopause is the Third Act where everything comes together.
