Nicola is a fully registered osteopath having studied Osteopathy for five years at Oxford Brookes University. Her degree gave her an extensive understanding of anatomy, physiology, clinical medicine, neuromusculoskeletal medicine and psychology.

Nicola is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and is also a member of the Institute of Osteopathy.

She is passionate about osteopathy due to the benefits that patients experience from treatment. The degree gave her a thorough understanding of the way in which the human body works and the importance of treating the body as a whole. Pain in one area of the body can be as a result of a condition elsewhere in the body and poor posture can have detrimental effects on the entire musculoskeletal system.

Nicola is a mother with young children and after having experienced two pregnancies and being a working mum she has found that osteopathy can make a significant difference in helping women through the experience of carrying a baby. She has completed further post graduate training in cranial osteopathy and has completed several courses focusing on the care of pregnant women and their children.

Nicola is also a qualified sports massage therapist, which has given her the ability to use this skill either in conjunction with an osteopathic treatment or on its own. Many soft tissue techniques including muscle energy techniques, soft tissue release and taping techniques can be used during treatment.
